Day 1: Arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Air port

Meet and greet you FANOS Ethiopia Tours representative at exit of luggage claim and transfer you to the hotel.

Depending on your arrival visit/city tour in Addis Ababa. You will have an early breakfast and your first visit in Addis Ababa will be the National Museum. It houses numerous antiquarian relics and archaeological artifacts (most famous exhibit is the 3.5 million year old skeleton of Lucy). Then you will continue to visit Mount Entoto (3,200 above sea level. The Church of St Mary (1885) and Emperor Menelik II Palace. The Entoto Museum, with its historical exhibits is well worth a visit.

 

After lunch you will visit Trinity Cathedral. It was constructed by Emperor Haile Selassie in 1947 (ornamented with carvings and mosaic and other artistic works such as paintings of saints and the apostles on the stained glass) and visit Merkato, the largest open market in Africa. In the evening, you will have dinner at the hotel and you will rest. Overnight stay in Oasis Hotel Apartment, Addis Ababa.

 

Day 2: Flight to Lalibela

 

After breakfast, a short flight will take you to Lalibela. Upon arrival, you will be met by our tour guides, drive by a minivan to a hotel where you will check and rest for few minutes.

 

Your first visit will be to the eleven Rock-hewn Monolithic (carved from a single rock) Churches of Lalibela (UNESCO World heritage site, with magnificent architecture & paintings inside the churches). In the evening you will get back to the hotel, rest, have dinner and relax.  Overnight stay in Panoramic View hotel, Lalibela

 

Day 3: One more day to explore the Lalibela Rock-hewn Churches

Right after breakfast, an early morning drive will take you to historical churches around Lalibela like the Hill Church of Asheton Mariam or Yimerhane Kirsotos. Overnight stay in Panoramic View hotel, Lalibela

 

Day 4: Flight back to Addis Ababa and continue your visit in Addis Ababa

 

After a relaxed breakfast, a short flight will bring you back to Addis Ababa. You will arrive in Addis Ababa continue your visit in Addis Ababa.

Day 5: Drive to Awassa/Hawassa/

 

Today you will drive to Awassa (275 Km from Addis). You will be arriving in Awassa in the afternoon and check into a hotel. Later, you can walk along the lake shore for nice evening sunset and aquatic birds such as; Saddle-billed stork, herons, darters and Wood hoope. You will have dinner and spend the night at the hotel. Day 6: Drive to Arba Minch through Wolayta Sodo

 

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Arba Minch (330 Km from Yirega Alem). On the visit the scenic morning Fish market in Awassa. Then you will drive to Arba Minch (280 Km from Awassa). On the way you will visit Senkelle Wildlife Sanctuary (90 Km from Awassa, well-known for endemic and endangered subspecies of Swayne’s Hartebeest) and you will stop for lunch at Wolayta (154 Km from Awassa).

 

You will be arriving in Arba Minch late afternoon and check into a lodge. You will have dinner and spend the night at the lodge. Overnight stay in Paradise or emerald hotel & resort.

 

Day 7: Visit Nech Sar National Park & drive to Dorze 

 

In the morning, after breakfast you will take a boat ride on Lake Chamo and visit to huge crocodiles, hippos, a variety of birdlife and you will also visit to the nearby Nech Sar National Park (a natural habitat for many wild animals: Zebra, Gazelle, & Antelope etc.). You will have lunch in Arba Minch.

 

After a brief break you will drive to Dorze (50 Km from Arba Minch) visit the Dorze village (famous for their bee hive shaped houses, weaving styles and their lifestyle). Late in the afternoon drive back to Arba Minch. You will have dinner and spend the night at the lodge. Overnight stay in Paradise or emerald hotel & resort.

 

Day 8: Drive to Jinka via Key afar

 

In the morning, you will have breakfast and drive to Jinka (270 Km from Arba Minch). And upon arrival at Konso (90 Km from Arba Minch), you will visit to the Konso Village (famous for their colorfully costumed dresses, impressive terracing of land - recently registered as World heritage by UNESCO, and engraved wooden statues grave markers).

 

You will have lunch at Konso. Then you will be driven to Jinka and check into a resort. You will have dinner and spend the night at the resort. Overnight stay in Jinka Resort or Eyobe pension.

 

Day 9: Excursion to Mursi village through Mago National Park

 

In the morning after breakfast, you will be driven to Mursi (55 Km from Jinka) and visit to the of Mursi tribe village (popularly known for their attractive culture, women wearing large clay plates into their lower lips). Then you will drive back to Jinka for lunch. 

 

After lunch, you will visit to the nearby Ari village and museum in Jinka. Dinner will be at the resort and you will spend the night at the resort. Overnight stay in Jinka Resort or Eyobe pension.

 

Day 10: Drive to Turmi, Hammer tribe town

 

After breakfast you will be driven to Turmi (142 Km from Jinka), visiting an interesting village on the way. Upon arrival in Turmi check into a lodge. You will have lunch in Turmi. 

 

After a brief break you will then walk to the non-touristic Hammer Village to explore the Hammer tribes (best known for elaborate hairstyles, body painting using clays and vegetable pigments to make fantastic patterns on their faces, chests, arms and legs), attend the bull jumping – if possible and available with luck.

 

In the evening, you will be driven back to the lodge for dinner and spend the night at the lodge. Overnight stay in Turmi Lodge.

 

Day 11: Excursion to Omorate to visit Dassench/Geleb tribe

 

An early morning drive will take you to Omorate to visit the Dassench/Geleb tribe (75 Km from Turmi). From there, you will take a boat trip on the Omo River and visit the Dassench/Geleb village.

 

Then you will get back to Turmi for lunch. You will then walk to the non-touristic Hammer Village to explore the Hammer tribes (best known for elaborate hairstyles, body painting using clays and vegetable pigments to make fantastic patterns on their faces, chests, arms and legs), attend the bull jumping – if possible and available with luck.

 

In the evening, you will be driven back to the lodge for dinner and spend the night at the lodge. Overnight stay in Turmi Lodge.

 

Day 12: Excursion to Murille to visit Karo tribe

 

An early morning drive will take you to Murille to visit the Karo tribe (62 Km from Turmi). You will visit the Karo village. You will have a picnic lunch.

 

Then you will get back to Turmi for lunch. In the afternoon you will have free or follow your own program. In the evening, you will be driven back to the lodge for dinner and spend the night at the lodge. Overnight stay in Turmi Lodge.

 

Day 13: Drive back to Arba Minch

 

After breakfast, you will be driven to Araba Minch (290 Km from Turmi). You will stop for lunch at Konso and will proceed driving to Araba Minch, where upon arrival you will check into a lodge. Dinner will be at the lodge and you will spend the night there. Overnight stay in Paradise or Swaynes Lodge.

 

Day 14: Drive back to Addis Ababa

 

After breakfast, you will be driving to Addis Ababa (510 Km from Arba Minch). You will stop for lunch at Wolayta Sodo. On the way you will visit to the Tiya Stelae (90 Km before Addis Ababa). You will arrive in Addis Ababa late afternoon where you will do some shopping for souvenirs.

 

Finally you will be taken to a farewell dinner to Ethiopian (Habesha 2000 or YOD Abyssinia) traditional restaurant where you will taste Ethiopian food & drinks and a live music & dance.

 

Then depending on your scheduled flight; you will be transferred out to Bole International Airport for return flight back home.
